Time flew in Málaga. It was almost two months in the city. I needed to collect another UNESCO World Heritage site into the blog, the Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba, AKA the Mezquita, over the last weekend. Taking a high-speed train to Córdoba sounded like a good Sunday afternoon plan.
Vice versa to Hagia Sophia, which was converted from an Orthodox church to an Islamic mosque, the Mezquita was built as the Great Mosque of Córdoba in AD 756. In AD 1236, during the fall of al-Andalus, it was remodelled to a Roman Catholic cathedral. Hence, it represents the co-existence between the Moorish architecture and Renaissance influence.

Moreover, the Moorish presence reminded me of the mesmerising Moroccan craftsmanship I was accustomed to months prior. Being able to join these dots was a blessing of this journey.
