“Passive Intruder” Exhibition

Photograph from the Passive Intruder exhibition

5 – 24 December 2004, Buzzzbar Café Restaurant, 349 King Street, Newtown 2042

Passive Intruder is a collection of photographs of Sydney’s Innerwest back streets where I always have a walk and explore. Browsing laneways lets me discover the inner and unintentional beauty in the neighbourhood that we may not notice. A hidden trace of behaviour and subliminal social interaction can be seen in the rear because it is where the least decorated to the public. Over the years, it seems like I am slipping into another world by these intrusions. At the same time, my observation of the texture, the pattern and the change in the area has turned to the celebration of harmony and diversity of this urban living.
