Something makes her happy. What is it? What could brighten her up in these gloomy days? She is left to deal with the cruel world by herself and it doesn’t seem to have a way out. But she is still smiling…smiling at me.

This is the memoir of how my major project at College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales, unfolds. We, Master of Digital Media students, were asked to write a blog about our projects on the schools server. This film is very much personal since it is mainly about mental illness and I am currently climbing out of the depression. I hope that the experience of making this short film would share what I have been going through and will make some awareness of the issue.

This is a great photograph in and of itself. Now that I’ve seen the final film, it’ll be interesting to see how much it’s changed since the original concept.

The interesting thing is how it is developed back into the original idea. In fact, I will scan the image I drew when the first vision came to me in the dream.
