Mardi Gras Parade Foreplay: Aunt Mavis and Love Police

Aunt Mavis and Love Police

Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras is one of Australia biggest annual events. This year for the first time I get to see the Parade, more specially, as one of photographers for Darlinghurst Photo Art Project.

Crowd gets in along the Parade route in the afternoon and there are numbers of entertainers warming them up including Aunt Mavis and Love Police.

I am thrilled to be selected as one of the photographers in Mardi Gras: the Slide Show. The project is to record events in Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras 2007. And the brief is very open which is go and get pictures as the photographers’ expression. I feel very honoured to be involved in this project, giving the standards of other fellows in the group are very high:

The first assignment is OutSkirts. Hmm, Goya comes to mind every time I see this shot. Other shots here.

Cracking World

Cracking World

This is one of the forgotten early photographs of mine. A mirrorball as a props in Sydney Gay Games 2002 was standing by for a rehearsal. I was involved in the Opening Ceremony as a volunteer stage management team. Big gig like this reminded me of what I used to do for living in Bangkok. Life goes on.
